One of my absolute favorite winterwear looks is a great coat with a great pair of sneakers. Of course there’s a time and a place for dressing up your winter outerwear with the right pair of boots or heels, but as far as how to style a winter coat with sneakers goes, it’s my favorite combination and takes next to no effort to achieve.
A casual yet polished winter outfit starts with the right coat and right pair of sneakers. As far as coats go, we want to stick with classic overcoats that are tailored and give us length. This means staying away from cropped or shorter puffer coats with little to no structure. Once you’ve decided on what classic coat you’re sporting that day, next comes the sneakers. While chunkier/heavier sneakers still have their place in the fashion world, a solid winter coat with sneakers outfit demands a more neutral sneaker to give it that sleek vibe we’re going for, so think low profile brown, black, or cream sneakers.
Once those two main components have been decided on, the rest of the look falls into place. A pair of straight-legged, tailored jeans with a worn-in crewneck sweater is a perfect combination. Lately, I’ve been loving this balaclava for my casual winter looks because it provides added warmth and detail. Tie the whole thing together with the right sunnies, handbag, and ballcap, and you are ready to look effortlessly cool with running everyday errands.
