Throwing you a curveball today. Did you know trench coats are actually a great piece for winter? It’s true. While they’re usually seen as an on-reserve coat for springtime, a trench coat winter outfit can be just as chic when you layer it correctly. Don’t get me wrong — I LOVE my heavier winter coats. But some days when the chill is tampered down a bit, a winter trench coat outfit can be killer.
Take today’s featured look for example. I made sure I was warmly layered up top with a long sleeve turtleneck topped off with a super cozy cashmere scarf. I then put on a pair of sturdy white jeans with a super relaxed fit and paired them with my favorite black leather ankle boots. The black and white combo was practically begging for a neutral trench coat, so this camel number was the perfect choice. It’s full-length, features a tie-belt waist, and provides just the right amount of extra winter warmth without being your typical heavier winter coat.
Bottom line: you should consider investing in a good trench coat for winter for milder weather days when you want to stay warm, but don’t necessarily need wool. You might be surprised at how much you wear it prior to springtime!
